284 feeds perfectly from Tikka mags. Can't imagine a Sako would be worse. I get identical performance to chainsaw - 160's at 2850.

No surprise there. CFE223 is too slow. Use a faster powder. I get 90's going close to 2900 (20" barrel) with BM2. 85's 2950.

It's looking like I might have to. The likes of DM have a 3+ month waiting list though plus the permit bollocks for shipping my own GD rifle to and from a gunsmith. The other option is to buy my...

The Barnes bullets work better and better with the more muzzle velocity you can give them. I think the 130 is pretty popular in 308 for that reason, because it's roughly the same length as a 150...

Won an auction on trademe for some stripper clips. Seller is in Palmy North. Turns out he's not shipping because he thinks they're firearms parts and thus need an s43a - only doing face to face. I...

How much jump are you giving the 180's out of interest? I'm finding them a bit finicky in my 284.

20" barrel T3. I'm up to 59gr of Re26 with a 160gr bullet (>2850fps) before I start getting any signs of pressure and 57gr with a 180gr bullet (2750fps). The 180 especially is a pretty warm load....

My "groups" with the 50gr Barnes TTSX in my 1:12 223 have been somewhat similar. Stabilises a 55gr Nosler (which is a bit longer) just fine. Bloody accurate. But hates the Barnes. Driving them at...

Can't speak for North Island, but none of my hunting in the South Island is bush hunting. It's rare for me to ever take a shot below 150m (for which the low-end magnification on a 3-9's, 3-15's,...

I asked about them at the end of lockdown. They were going to make some more "soon" and contact me. I've heard nothing yet. If they have a deal set up with Whidden then I wonder if it'll be like...
