Personally I would stay away from those c&a knives. Will be chinesium or similar given the price. Also that set has 3 knives that do pretty much the same thing so a bit redundant. I would recommend...
Would be lively in 308, I shoot sale weight in 6.5 creed and she jumps around a bit even supressed
Nah s45vn and elmax are different steels. Elmax has quite a bit more carbon and chromium.
I typod s35vn as recommendation but nothing wrong with either steel. S30v can make a fine knife treated...
A couple of good steels for balancing better edge retention without becoming a pain to sharpen are 14c28n, rwl 34/cpm154, s45vn. All fairly available to makers here.
You can take a step up in edge...
Looks like tasmanian blackwood
It's a pretty easy process. What you do is write down how many clicks it was to 600m on your wrist mounted diary, or failing that inside your scope caps next to you punisher sticker.
Then when...
Boonies reef shoes. Not waterproof but I just have a sacrificial pair of socks. Nice and quiet and reasonably grippy. Probably need a new pair yearly but at 25 bucks who cares.
Big advantage in...
Anyone know if there is still a local that looks after the wagon at rawhiti? Got a doc site booked on urapukapuka over Easter and looking at the wind will be best launching at Rawhiti.
Cheers
Picked up a few knives in a recent trip to Japan. Pretty cool be able to find ashi hamono off the shelf as they are basically impossible to find these days. Also hard not to pick up a higonokami when...
How do you find the frame in the thick?
Yeah and to add that the benefits aren't just the availibility of factory ammo. The saami specs are far better suited to the long heavy pill setups used in modern shooting. Coals optimised for mag...
Can confirm, these make deer very dead
Yeah my alpine rifle is about the same weight. Longer shots you want a heavier rig for sure.
My little kimber is pretty lively and it's only a 6.5 creed. Comfortable enough to shoot still but hops...
Pro lt 4000 so like 65l
Kimber hunter with dpt and vx3. Like 2.8 kegs all up. Great little gun, pretty much perfect for mehttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20240124/ed0c2e3bc60f566c5fa9a3660b1fb4cb.jpg

I landed my kuiu for about 700 bucks. They have a couple of good sales per year.
To be fair, any pack that had a decent frame ie, every pack that carries weight properly has a frame that sticks up be hiding head/shoulders, and won't be great for buch bashing.
It's a tradeoff...
They use 12c27 which is a fairly simple but very good stainless steel. High toughness, and a fine carbide so will take a very fine edge, easily but won't hold it for super long.
Performance wise...
I've got a custom built remmy in a carbon fiber stock, with flash trigger and bits. Owes me well over 5k before you start looking at scopes and rings.
Lovely rifle that shoots fucking mint.

Good hunt, always cool to explore new country. Broke my streak though! Have shot a deer every hunt since covid until this one. Never a bad day in the kaimanawa though.
I took one on my small fixed bnt models last deer hunt. Honestly was pretty amazed how effective it was for something that only has an 8cm blade
That's bloody good Value. Buck do a mint job with the 420hc too. Way better than they deserve to be
Nothing worse than having a pack fail on you. I've been there it's a pain in the arse.
By proven gear, bushbucks reputation is way to spotty for me to take the risk on a piece of gear as crucial...
A sling can be handy in steep shit, but yeah, they often come off.
I started hunting with a close to 5kg setup, tbh it was shit to have in hand all day. My 2.8kg setup is way way nicer to carry....
