I shoot the 50gr TTSX with my 1:14" 220 Swift and they're fantastic on deer. I pull the tips out which is very easy. Fantastic deer combination!

I do love a DNZ mount. Here are some custom ones on my Sako A1 and Ruger M77:

A subsonic round in 7-08 or 308 is a better proposition I think, using something like Trailboss / Tin Star or 6+ gr of fast pistol powder - Look for loads online.
I use 3gr of Viht N310 with an...
Really nice work, great to see something different.
Baking paper works well. I found that the bullets stick to tinfoil too much.
That looks great. Looking forward to seeing the results. Sadly it's not easy to build rifles over here.
Here's an interesting article on shortening a 270. Long barrels are overrated IMO.

You might be better off with a slower burning powder.
60gr Viht N165 gives me 2850-2900fps with 150gr Sierra Gamekings out of my 22.4" 270 Win.
I expect that you'd get 3000+ fps with 150gr....
I've had the 70gr Blitzkings over 3000fps. They have a reasonable BC for a good trajectory. Haven't tried them on game though.
I've just got a Sightron S-TAC 2-10x32 which is a good fit for my Sako A1. They're quite reasonably priced over here and lightweight.

Tikka T3 for me.
Very nice Mikey-p , welcome to the 6x45 club!
Pics as promised if anyone is interested. 2 fragments seem to have broken ribs and exited close to the entry wound. The entry hole was between ribs. I threw out the damaged shoulder but could have...
I shot a small roe doe this morning at 70m with the 90gr TGK (1:8" twist Sako 6x45, 23gr Viht N133). Live weight would be around 15kg. My muzzle velocity is around 2550fps so impact velocity would...
I'll be out for a stalk this morning with 90gr Gamechangers in my 6x45. Will report back when I get anything. They're very accurate for me with no elaborate load development.
That looks like a really mean rifle. Enjoy!
Here's a simple recipe that works very well for me. The
last batch that I made from Red Stag shoulders and haunch was very tasty.

You'll get away with the bullet in half of the neck. Just be aware that it will be easier to knock to bullets out of alignment in the case neck when carrying them, although you shouldn't have any...
It will be interesting to hear how you get on with them.
Well done! Always nice when you can get the deer to the pickup easily.
The Barnes recommended OAL is a good start point. I got 110gr TSX up to 3350 fps from my 22.4" T3 with good accuracy. I've heard of folks struggling with the Barnes when they try to load them close...
Welcome from Aberdeenshire, mate.
Thanks for the really good instructions gundoc and SixtyTen. I'm going to give this a go for cutting a bullet mould and maybe for a chamber at some stage.
Sorry haven't done one here but here are the threads I did on my local UK stalking forum for my fibreglass and carbon stocks:
