Those bloody grand kids of mine! They are completely out of control. I can’t wait until they are school aged. Seriously though, there is always going to be an element in our society that will take advantage of others misfortune. If the rumour is confirmed then I am happy to call them scum.

Ha ha. Cindy has covered that one, with the most liberal abortion law in the world, just passed.

Now, after an earlier post assuring you that the Zombie Hordes weren't as close as we thought, and living 65 km from the outskirts of Christchurch, I thought we were quite immune from people or crim's targeting our place. Hell, you turn into our road that there is a sign clearly stating that it is Defence Property. You drive to our house and there is a Security Car decked out in full decals in the driveway at all times except when Sharon disappears up the hill to do a patrol.

And yet, sometime between 05:00 pm last night and 09:00 am this morning some cheeky little prick has come to our house and nicked all of our ripe tomatoes off the vines. Sharon is seething - they were her pride and joy - I'm a little more bemused and think that obviously there need was greater than ours. Due credit to them, they haven't damaged the plants and nothing else seems to be taken. They have even left all the green tomatoes that hopefully may ripen up before the frosts get them.

I was working all last night and Sharon was here at all times except for two hours that she was checking security.

    Bloody cheeky buggers.

    Upshot and lessons learned?
We are not as insulated out here as we thought we may have been. We are setting up a Trail Camera in case we get further visits. We will be a lot more vigilant going forward. And no, all of the firearms will still remain securely locked in the safe......maybe I will keep a piece of firewood handy by the door.

I think we have been the victims of Large Red Tomato Envy.....

    Cheers

I think crack heads sell. Tomatoes, there were a heap stolen locally.

They don't think like humans, that part of their brain is gone. When they can't get their fix they are going to go mental and do weird and dangerous things.

We just put in new cattle yards next to.my house by a water race. Here's two people, one fishing, both talking, but with a very powerful torch which spent most of its time playing over the new yards.

I take number plates. Any time a vehicle slows down around our sheds or the neighbors, I jump on the bike, ride up behind them, take the plate and ride away. Word gets around.

Here's a mangy lowered BMW, as soon as I pull up, a standard skinny sickly crackhead starts walking towards me with the usual high speed chatter to be disarming, while his mate puts the big LED torch on me so I can't see.

@gadgetman loaned me one of his, so I flicked that on. I won the torch contest. Cheers mate. Took the plate and left.

Criminals will always have a look first because they are weak and lazy and cowardly. Just be blatant about looking hard at anyone hanging around.
