New toy for me is a Tikka T3X in 6.5 x 55 SE, got this one suppressed with a DPT can, took the PST Viper off the Rum and put it on this rifle. Has 20 MOA rail and is in leupold rings all up weight 8 pound 10 oz. 20 inch Barrel. Loaded up several different loads to try using 143 gr ELD X bullets and AR 2213 SC , AR 2209. and Superformance powders.
Velocity ranged between 2550 fps to 2275 fps. ( 46 grs of AR2213 SC resulted in an average of 2587 fps and 49 grs got to 2754 fps) 2209 at 44 grs averaged 2641 fps and Superformance at 45 grs only reached 2597 fps average.
At all the different charge weights I tried I think I could go a little higher especially with 2209 and Superformance. The good thing that came out of it was all the different loads shot to pretty much the same point of impact at 100 yards.( see pictures) Overall very happy with the first time out, can't wait to see how she goes at longer ranges.Name: Tikka T3X 6.5 x 55.JPG

On the target picture the left cross was after I finally seen where it hit sighting in then I shot the group with 47 grs AR 2213 SC , then moved it on click to the left and shot the next group with several different loads, the two bullets at the top of the right cross were with 49 grs of AR 2213 SC at 2754 fps average.( this load will be what I use a the moment)

That's a great thing about the 6.5x55 - various bullets and loads seem to shoot very close to the same POI.

243's tend to shoot different bullets close together also.

It seems I've caught an STD Songhurst Transmitted Disease
This came up at a price I couldn't refuse through a forum member.
The scope cost me more than the rifle it's wearing a leupold vx5hd 3-15x44 on leupold PRW rings
