    It never ceases to amaze me the arrogance of some of the bigger retailers who just put a price on items thinking the masses are going to buy from them anyway while the smaller outfits have to shave their margins just to remain in the game. I guess this is what a free and open economy is all about.

    If I buy Vortex it'll defeintely be via Broncos! Undecided at moment as Sarvo has offered to source me some extremely well priced Delta Optical Forest II however unsure as they're 8.5x50 & 870 grams

    @uk_exile
    They come in 10x and 12x as well - and do not forget they are 50's not 42's which negatively adds a bit more weight but positively draws more light

    That's why I'm really tempted as they seem extremely good value. Leaves cash for a holder & a low cost SNDWAY range finder.
    Thinking one of these bags https://bushbuckoutdoors.com/product...-binocular-bag

    However I've never had a pair of 50s in hand so I need to at least visit a store this weekend and get a feel for size before commiting to anything.

    Have decided to buy the 8.5x50 binos Sarvo has recommended.
    Using the remaining gift $ to get a bushbuck bino case & harness plus a SNDWAY 1000m range finder from aliexpress. New boys toys :-)

    I have been looking for really good binoculars for a long time and finally, have chosen Nikon Prostaff 5 8×42. In fact, I didn't want to buy it from the very beginning of my search, but since some time I've found the review(https://opticzoo.com/nikon-prostaff-5-8x42-review/) and decided that this is definitely the one that I need!

    I'd been tempted by the Nikon Prostaff too! Particularly as I've got the Nikon Monarch 5 scope and its awesome. My decision to go with the Delta Opticals from @Sarvo is based on good reviews and my trust in knowledgible people. Small delay shipping them but that's fine with me.
    Funny thing is my SNDWAY 1000m range finder has arrived from aliexpress and it's optics is better than the 7x35 unbranded binos I'm using now! The new binos will be awesome!

    hi guys, sorry for the bump but i've picked up some great info from this thread, so thanks.

    Sarvo, i'm wondering if you have any delta binos that you are looking to sell? Seems like they would be a bino that would suit me well. 8.5x50 could be a goer i think, although i won't be up in the high country so much. Let me know.

    Cheers
