    Oceania Defence suppressors

Looking at one of these for my AR15 - expensive yes but also light and not so long forward of the muzzle. Was specifically looking at this one

    OCEANIA DEFENCE MIST 556-110

Anyone actually used one of these?

Hey mate I have the samson model on my NEA15 super light equal in sound reduction to my old maximus.Only annoying thing is it loosens up sometimes even after doing it up super tight.

I have one, and will be buying more-while I can't afford to replace all my current suppressers with them all future ones will be odi ones-they just seem to work better than my gunworks and hardy cans. And are much lighter.

I want one for my bolt gun, but is already threaded 1/2 x 28 and OD does not seem keen to do me one with this thread.

It would be the first they have done for a magnum bolt gun, I don't mind being a guinea pig but I am not prepared to chop anything off the barrel nor have it rethreaded as then I would loose the ability to use the brake. I want to be able to use both. It was left long for a reason. The only reason I want to be able to use a suppressor is for when the dog is with me. Her hearing is buggered enough with out me wrecking it more

They certainly seem to the business though

This is interesting. Maybe a property of the titanium being super stiff and vibrating more than a ductile steel can? Would be interesting to see accelerometer results showing vibrations of a titanium vs steel can.

Then again - I would expect the steel in your barrel to heat up faster than the titanium in the suppressor, so as the barrel heats up, it expands faster than the suppressor and should self tighten.

The suppressor does have a lot more surface area vs mass so should absorb a lot more of the heat.

They get super hot quite fast but don't sag. They have been fall auto tested in Canada if I recall correctly.

Just a note had a blast with it last night, decided not to be a wuss (fear of stripping thread) and crank the bloody thing right up real tight. Problem solved!

The DPT suppressor that weighs 192 grams is a can suppressor and about twice as long forward of the muzzle as the ODL and I don't think it is really intended for use on a semi-auto

Titanium vs alloy. takes a lot more of a beating, wouldn't run alloy on an AR if you intend to do a higher rate of fire.
