    Love him or hate him, TBR has injected a few memes into the shooting scene here.

    The key is to get the soft pad surfaces of your hand and fingers simultaneously gripping rifle and pack / branch / rock so the bones aren't in contact with the support. A little practice goes a long way. Passively resting your support hand on a soft pack or a log won't get you very far. You've got 4 (or 5) fingers - use them.
