if you want to see if softbaiting is your cup of tea VC come up north and ill take you out while your up

at least then I can grill you on how to get my hydraullic hauler up and running

I have just moved to the south island and have yet to grow any extra digits.
If you want a demo of north island soft bait technique VC I will gladly accompany you to throw a bait or two around. It's not rocket science and the gear need not be stellar flash. Picking the right conditions is the most important thing to success.

Light winds (saves pissing around with sea anchors) and a good knowledge of the local currents in your favourite fishing spots.

currents are easy in round the edges of the bay .....either in or out. winds not so much.
Forecast at this stage looks maybe doable for anchor fishing (I hope) but probably far to windy for drift fishing.

I have yet to see softbaits work effectively while at anchor Cam.

Snow is on the hills. big blues (cod) will be coming in shallow, sadly so will the shit fish .. Gurnard are there it's hard to get past the spikes.. But with your colour sounder .. Can you see the spikies verse other fish?
