My point exactly. I was on hold for over 40 minutes and much the same when registering 5 firearms. The SHT LE thing was just a pita. He had to ask someone. He didn't fecking well know and was telling me to look at bloody Google.
I tried to get the exact details accross but nope. 90% of it is right. It's a 303 with a detachable mag and it has a 1 on the wrist and the right serial number.

I succumbed and did mine this am .after first time wait of 30min c-no luck .hung up tried again an hour later -70mins wait to crematorium music plus a fucking annoying voice on continual repeat explaining the totally bloody obvious, whooooa we got through -job done except for coupla minor FUBARS-one mine the other NZ POLICE-showing my email still at paradise .net.Duh are Government department computers not subject to updates????????????????????????.

great to hear if i buy ammo no phone call required buy sell yep.

thank fuck thats that outa my rapidly thinning hair!one less dollop of s..t on my overloaded liver !

smiffy -had same query with my .303 but the lass allowed me to explain ,likewise my Bentley pointer which FAR has under yamoto industries category.

Id suggest they hire 3x the number of phone operators on staff presently and a person to run through the complete catalogue of elevator music./crematorium top 10 hits .

Rest assured when I register my several firearms later this year they will be registered as what they are, not what they think they might be, not many standard ones among them so it could be interesting
Good luck, practice by listing them with your office secretary in the meantime

Rather than read through the last 53 pages can anyone please tell me if it's possible to get a list of registered firearms when you login rather than individual ones for when you submitted them,
    thanks in advance

It is possible, but I did mine quite a while ago and I have no recollection of how it was done. Somewhere along the way I believe I had to contact my local AO who validated something or other so that I could get the list. Which had untold errors. But it was a sortable excel list.
Good luck on your next venture.

30 minutes on hold/waiting with the awful music and the relentless recorded message from the person with an annoying accent.... before giving up.

Oh well , theres always tomorrow , ad infinitum....

    My last attempts have been:

45 mins on hold to register a C cat from a dealer transfer (no exact match in the firearms reference table)

    40 mins and gave up

45 mins and hung up on when it hit 5pm

35 mins on hold, success (transferring an A cat firearm)

All of my friends are having similar experiences and wait times. This is all during work hours too.

Yep, 30 min or so seems to be the wait time. I rang the other day as I couldn't see the firearm that was transfered and entered by them. Was informed that you have to be personally verified to see the complete listing otherwise you can only see what you have entered online. You have to click on the pdf where it says something about your profile not complete. Print the page and take it to the cop shop where someone will check you are the person on your license, sign it and they send it to FSA. Can take a couple of weeks or so to become verified.

I had a similar problem with my marlin glenfield model 20..infact its know as a marlin 780. So there is no model 20 online lists as something different. The model 780 was what it actually is.

Three goes so far to verify a transfer. Two and three quarter hours waiting ffs. Why can't they have a callback service like most companies offer or at least let you know how far down in the list of people slowly losing their minds to the incessant reminders of what you can do on their webshite or to have your license ready so they can attend to your enquiry quickly. If akaroa1 reads this I've tidied the workshop and am now thinking of mucking it up again

I think they now know me through the two complaints I lodged. Only 23 minutes wait this morning. Am now looking to book a trip to the Andes to experience real Pan pipes music.

Is their any help line that’s quicker?
Restraint is the better part of dignity. Don't justify getting even. Do not do unto others as they do unto you if it will cause harm.
