Every time I have the misfortune of dealing with this outfit I ask the question. Basically they don’t care because they are prioritising registrations, not providing a functioning system for those who have registered.

Of course. They sold a pointless lemon to the government which license holders have rejected, as demonstrated by the registration rates.

They are desperate to show it's 'success'

And the way it's set up legally, there is no real incentive for them to go to too much effort to ensure that the registration data held on the system is accurate. The responsibility (and blame) to ensure that the data is accurate lies with the firearm licence holder. It's your problem, not theirs...

Well I finally managed to confirm a transfer yesterday. 6 attempts and around 3 hours on hold. Helpful lass says it's a martini Henrys. I say no it's a martini action. We had a chat about close enough not being good enough.

Am i Imagining things?? I last sold a firearm about 12 months ago, and couldve sworn the transfer of ownership was all done online. Just went to do the same thing again, and now it says the only way to do it is by phone call ... Pretty Frustrating.....

26 minutes on hold and counting...
What a shambles of a system.

Credit where it is due - a sale transfer took me 12 mins on hold, 5 mins talking to operator, and I'm sorted. Better than my private broadband provider who has competition from several other providers, by a country mile.
I'm not a fan though - unless all firearms in NZ are accurately registered, it won't serve its purpose.

I would like to give them no credit because that took 45mins of my day and it was annoying.

I've had to ring them a few times recently. Pretty much a 20min wait each time. They need a better music selection
