Weeks, months? What's the diff to an AO?![]()

I have a new shotgun that I want to pick up all.....
Don't bother your local FO ring the head plod shop in Wellywood and talk the guy that proccess the licenses he is the problem
Same for me @Bonecrusher. I haven't received my licence yet either. Tried calling local AO this morning. Left a message to call back....nothing yet. 2 months now since my previous one expired 😡
Hunting is not a hobby.....its an addiction
Mine expired in December, started the process in November .........December, January, February and now March....
Is there no one that can help you guys???? Really this is a total shot service!!!
They worry that you might step through a lop hole with mail order and yet they let you run around with out licences?
There MUST BE SOMETHING that can be done about this, because it really is crap!!!

I will email the Minister if I haven't received it this week I can go hunting no problem but can't buy ammo or another firearm ....
Bugger it I've emailed the Minister very politely inquiring "Minister are you aware of the current problems with staff resourcing in Wellington" it might action a few questions to the right people and get the desired result.
Foot Note: I've got an M2 that I want to pick up and bust some clays prior at an eye opener prior to duck shooting![]()

Here's a thought: If anyone out there knows an MP on a relatively personal basis ( opposition one would be best). Explain the variance in the issue of renewals for Dealers ( an annual event) and the inordinate time that it is taking for everyone else and ask the MP to ask " A question in Parliament" Not only will it place the predicament on the public record, the bullet (sorry!!) that is fired will bounce all the way from the Minister's desk, via the Commissioner's desk, to the licencing cops at "Fort Fumble in Wellywood ( I liked that one!!) and eventually down to the Arms Officers who won't like being picked on & the blame will eventually end up right where it deserves to be!!!!!How about THAT for a thought????? 20 or 30 MP's getting polite requests from some constituents, might do the trick?????
WADDA YA REKON?????????
Response I got from the Ministers Office
Dear Mr Bonecrusher
I am writing on behalf of Hon Judith Collins, Minister of Police, who has asked me to acknowledge your email, received in this office on 8 March 2016, concerning your firearms licence renewal.
I must point out that politicians cannot instruct Police in operational matters including how and when it deploys its staff and resources. This is a long standing convention that was enshrined in law with the passing of the Policing Act 2008. It ensures that law enforcement and investigation by the Police remain free of any political influence or interference.
Your correspondence and views have been noted by the Minister. I have also forwarded your concerns to the Commissioner of Police for consideration.
Thank you for taking the time to write to the Minister of Police.
Yours sincerely
Blair

Some long waiting times for you lads, I must have been lucky. Submitted my renewal one month prior to it expiring within 2 weeks I was interviewed and cleared good to go. They did however say it will take anywhere from 6-8 weeks for the card to arrive.
Update
Rang the local firearms office mine went to the printers on the 7th of March 7 - 10 working days to receive
The TV3 - Gun city debacle has caused all this with change of rules and application of the Law backlog started Nov 2015
My local office handles 1000 case files at any one timeso patience is needed by us all. Apparently up to 10 abusive phone calls are received per day.
And in case anyone asks I'm not related to Crusher Collins either![]()
