Bergara B14 "Extreme Hunter" in 308, 18" barrel and DPT suppressor, Zeiss Conquest 1.8-5.5x38 and talley rings. A bit heavy for what it is but I reckon these things are good value, way nicer action than a Rem700 much slicker plus has Sako Extractor and bolt release, stock is nice and stiff. Gonna go shoot it this arvo
Looks good. What's the all up cost of the "el cheapo" package?

Finally finished the oil finish on the stock on my mini mauser, came up real nice. Off to get chopped and suppressor tommorow, should be a handy wee rig.

    $1599 for rifle
    $130 Talleys
    $250 suppressor (off here)
    $mates rates Scope

Still a bit of coin but cheap considering the last two rifles I have had probably had somewhere in the vicinity of $6-8k each sunk on them and a Sako Bavarian and a few others thrown in the mix along the way the last couple of years

Ok. Wasn't sure of the price of that model Bergara. I suppose it is up there in the same bracket as Tikkas and the like.

So a bit of an update picked her up from the smith today
Got the barrel shortened to 16...A couple of weeks ago i freefloated the barrel which opened up alot of slop in the fit so i had the smith install a pillar to remove slop on the stock/action fit I was going to get it glass beded but the smith suggested against it and suggested just a pillar has done a perfect job of removing any play

I also swapped scopes from the 4-16 monarch 3 to a 6-24x44 Japanese made tasco target scope For those of you that don’t know this isn’t a trashco that’s the Chinese made ones the jap ones are a good bit of kit

The quote "Do Bears shit in the woods" springs to mind

That is the main reason I ordered it last November.

One of my distributors tired it last year & said the TF was way better than the factory brake, no surprises there
