Cheers guys for the info. That life time warranty is a real bonus in my eyes, and have heard great things about the Leupolds.

Thanks Vapour for the offer, but I'll have to pass sorry as I have a plan already sussed out.

Ha, yeah I got a new scope with that rifle sale for another 223 I have. I do want to keep the 2-7 as a backup really

Being over gunned is under rated.

I have been using a Redfield Revolution 3-9 which came on a 30-06 I bought. Seems nice and clear, Redfield are owned by Leupold, cost is around $400 new here.

I figure what ever I buy will be switched to a different .223 when/if I upgrade from the single.

+1 for the vx 1. Had one on a rifle of mine and it took a lot of abuse and never lost zero. Just keep it as a spare now, as a reliable scope comes in very handy at times!

Rusky , if you are still looking for a scope, have a look at the Mueller range. I use one on my 223 and have used them on other calibre rifles as well. Very good scope if you are limited to a budget like I am. Magnification is 4.5-14x40ao.

Ok guys, Im going to go with the Leupold VX-1 3-9x40, Duplex, Mossy Oak Treestand, or the Leupold VX-1 3-9x40, Duplex, Mossy Oak Break-up. Whats the difference in the two different finishes?

Think I wasn't paying attention to the names really. The pics I have seen just show them both black, and black is all I want. Think Gun city in Auckland is the cheapest for this model so far. Would like to import, but fear it wont arrive within 2 weeks when Im off again.

My scope from the optic zone arrived in 10 days from the day I ordered it. My last one was about the same. Order now and you should get it in time. Im about to order the same scope in a couple of weeks

Cant risk it with a few days delay Brennos, so have found the cheapest price at Serious shooters (good customer service wanting to beat any other competitors price which he did). Not too worried about price as its my birthday soon any way.

Has anyone ever had good service from Wills fishing and firearms on the North Shore? I certainly haven't.

    How much?

Only works out about $50 cheaper to import scope and rings. Might not be worth it imo

$365 Brennos. Some retailers were selling them at $450, one of them was the above I just mentioned.
