Almost certainly many of us will be pretty broke so decisions will be made to not purchase at all.

Woody: I believe you have the most believable handle on this. When I get home, I will not be buying anything I don't absolutely have to.

Because, the government will have fucked my ability to earn while devaluing whatever savings I have left and passing on whatever productive income I manage to generate in the future, to the labour-voting Northland iwi-ferals, the Northland iwi-sofa-sitters, and the South Auckland multi-progeny-by-different-fathers solo-mothers.

In other words, the government will be carrying out Business As Usual, but more of it.

I have never been much of an online shopper and I always tried to support local unless they were just taking the piss with markups so no nothing will change their.
    And fuck hunting and fishing.

Maybe its time to take a swallow on H&F stores and support them again (for those who say they won't support them). Or will peoples' principles get in the way of "support NZ" to keep local businesses going?

Going forward I will support NZ businesses (I have been a big off shore shopper in the past). But I will be cutting my spending too.
But you havent got long left you might as well spend up large!

Yes. If a family had managed to save NZ$100,000 as at January 2020 it would have been worth about US$90,000 (The major international trading currency).
Today our NZ$100,000 is devalued to approx US$60,000; so our NZ family has lost 40% of its tradeable equity almost overnight. On top of that we are goung into a massive national debt because the COL failed to shut out the covid19 by decisive decisionmakung action. The opposition too, and the "expert" economists failed to scream "DANGER" loudly and quickly enough.
I hope the gullible NZ state dependents now created will demand accountability from the mutts that have sold us into servitude.

Sadly, I do not think we will ever get to the stage of tar & feathers. Usually, New Zealand gets no further than the stage of Tahring and Dithering, because we have so many ex-university lecturers as our government.

Chickens will come home to roost when bullets cost $200 / 100 and imported clothes cost nearly double.
Hopefully the NZ wool and fabric , leather, footware and many other local msnufacturing businesses will rebirth to replace the imported debt creating and job costing goods currently brought in from offshore.

yeah nah....if the corona gets you,the state will chuck you on the BBQ and hand relatives a sealed jar afterwards....no big pissup party allowed either...but there will be one very sad lass sitting at the driveway gate looking for her buddy to come home and take her hunting.

My discretionary spending will definitely drop, the nice to have stuff won’t be brought and I’m patient enough to wait for sales to get a good deal, customer service in NZ needs to sharpen up a lot. The product knowledge of staff, say REI (Outdoor shop) in the state’s is amazing, here you get “ we have a blue or green one” I’ll support local to an extent but not at the expense of my bank account.
Shut up, get out & start pushing!

Is there a “chat” where all the places we have had good service, pricing etc is? Would be good to know who is good to deal with and who is in the league of HnF. Thoughts, suggestions?
