Just applied for my renewal last week. Fingers crossed it gets processed in timely manner. Old one expires in January. But seems I’m covered even if renewal delayed as my application is lodged & I got an email back acknowledging that.

Anyone had the vettor take photos of your security setup?
“Age is a very high price to pay for maturity”
Final had my interview and security inspection yesterday. Vettor was relaxed but professional, no dramas and no photos. Done and dusted in about 20min for 5 months of wait time.

Finally got email with some time options...have replied. The other thread has me spooked re new security requirements so off to spend excessive amounts of hard earned $$ to beef them up above n beyond what is logically needed.

I had my interview on the 17th of September, everything seemed to be O.K. but he was worried about my safe which is made of 19mm HDF and bolted to the wall, floor and my reloading bench, while here, he spoke to someone in the office and they said no MDF but 16mm ply is O.K. I pointed out that mine is HDF and gave him some info on it, but I haven't heard a word since. I guess my point is that if they don't want wood, then they should say so before and there should be defined specs on steel safes and not hearsay that the inspecting officer decides on the day. I note that the E Cat guy's had to change some of their safes because the requirements have changed. I don't think it is good that the inspecting officer can make the decision on the day, these people are not engineers or carpenters. I am loathe to go out and spend money on something I may not need, and as I said to the officer, if I was in one of the big urban areas, I would have something a bit harder to get into, but I'm not.
my understanding is that the wait time depends on where you live in the country i have had many different people tell me a range of dates from 4 to 11 months
I submitted mine on the first day of April, 2 weeks later I got an email to attend the course. Attended course on 19th April. No word until mid-July and then vetting/interviews on the 6th August. 8 days later I got my approval letter and 9 days after that my license came in the mail. 23rd of August so j ust a little under 5 months which surprised me as the vetter told me I probably wouldnt see the license until later October.
