Had my renewal interview/security check today. Applied at the end of march, so 2.5 months wait here in Tararua.
Should I be concerned, it's been 3 weeks since my interview.
I was advised this was a simple renewal, and I should receive my license in the next couple of weeks. I have not received an approved email, but since then, others I know in my area have had their interviews and the next day received the approved email.
Day two and counting for my renewal. The receipt email says there’s a major load on the system till 2028 and I’ll be in the life time licence holder cycle that adds a lot to that load I guess. Mind you, the population is a lot lower down here so I’m optimistic it’ll get sorted within reasonable time.

Just received my fal card,nice.4.5 months since applying.Ok for the McKenzie area I guess,I'm happy as.
Just received my new licence. 6.5 weeks for me from start to finish. Found it so much more simpler and easier the whole process this time around than my last renewal 10 years ago..
I've been waiting for 3 weeks now since passing my FAL theory test, I have my safe installed and waiting for vetting. How long is the wait in chch?
Done all the online stuff for renewal couple of weeks ago now, haven't heard a dicky bird....

Just received an email saying my application has been passed on to the local district to put together my vetting pack. (what ever that means) been about 5 weeks since submitting renewal application.
I waiting, application in for renewal, but I don’t care, I can still have my firearms at home, even after Sept, when it’s due
Boom, cough,cough,cough
Mine ended up being 5 months and 1 week from applying to having the renewed card.
Email saying it was approved was 1 week after the interview. Card arriving the mail was 6 weeks after that. It did say in the letter attached to the email that the card would be sent in the next 6-8 weeks.
I figured they just used all the time they had till the old one expired
It just occurred to me that when I went through the renewal process recently, there was no mention of gun registration and the guy who came to my house didn't want to cross reference serial numbers or even makes/model of gun with the register. Do you think they are just waiting until registration is compulsory before they start doing this or is the whole exercise a pointless public relations stunt?
