I have my granddads hunting knife, his is Sheffield England and identical to yours but its a bit longer than yours and hell its sharp. Id say from the same era, 40's, 50's when he was a young fella

AnotherHunter, that pig sticker looks to good to use on a pig.
Have you made that folder from scratch, is it a re-blade of an existing folder?
hi bremic , yes , I made the folder from scratch . it is a linerlock . The liners are titanium which is a mongrel to work with . I haven't got a mill so just a drill press and handtools. I have made a few folders but they are very time consuming and each time I swear I will never make another ;)

Just got this one at the weekend, camel bone with brass liners, o1 steel, bubbling effect on blades is camellia oil for protection during storage

Looking at some of the old Sheffield blades, this is a old William Rogers " I cut my way " I have been renovating , just ground the blade to 30% for cutting. I did not want to polish the blade, just remove the rust, Not sure of the date of manufacture, 50s 60s ?
The large german folding is unusual.

Very odd. Can you put up pics of a few more angles?
Very nice Johnm. I particularly like the top one.
Top one is William Rogers " I cut my way "

John, William Rodgers made a fair burn Sykes for the military , looking at that blade, they made some hunter types as well, love it.
That folding knife above is called a dague A la d'estaing
Google the name and you will find many different models with the folding guard which is an original feature.
Friwi
Thanks Fiwi I learnt something new tonight its proper name. The third down is a Marbles and there was a very nice Dague a la d'estaing made by them in the images.
that folding bowie is very cool. ive seen them before but not as nice as that. did it ever have a sheath ?
Yes it still has its sheath and is put away in its folded position.
you just need to start with a sharp one Mohawk :P
hey Mohawk,
I mostly do it for fun . ive sold a few ,but it mostly just covers the materials . had a go at a small production run of hunting knives , and sold a few . I really like making reproductions of old knives . this is a copy of the type of knife the nz bushrangers like von tempsky probably would have used .

My piss poor collectionAttachment 27335
Wow I bet that could tell a few stories.
I've had very little luck tracking down its heritage , and some very knowledgeable people have been trying to help ,
from the pattern and a few manufacturing details it was made sometime between 1850 -1890 . That's a bit vague I know but its the best I've got :)
I carry it everyday at work , and it earns it keep .

Just picked up two new knives from the makers , the steel is AEB-L, hornbeam handles, with the curve of the handle and blade, it follows the palm of your hand with your finger on the blade tip to open up the bellys.

Got them for two friends in the USA as this maybe the last time I see them for a long time if my immigration to NZ comes through.
sexy knife porn there Taff.
handles almost look like Olivewood.
If anyone wants a good value knife of a similar shape as above, google “Hess knives”. They are great value. Made from 1095 carbon steel.

Picked up this wee CRKT Obake (or-bar-key) last week, really nice japanese inspired design by Lucas Burnley with an acid etched blade.
Overall length about 17cm, faux rayskin handle with resin impregnated paracord.
So far has opened the shit out of some cardboard boxes and overall very happy with it for $85.
I needed a going out knife ,small , friendly looking with a bottle opener for those ever present Beer bottles that seem to follow me around .
So got this from the USA , my mate liked it so much he ordered one as well and bent my arm and ear until I made a sheath for him .
He gave me a long list of what he wanted in his ultimate sheath .
I purposely did none of them .
Ya get what ya get , and ya don't get upset :)

Love the sheath
What would ya charge a guy for a setup like that?
Sorry , but I bend the Moo for fun not income .
Also that sheath is the last belt sheath I'm going to make for awhile , I'm now going to concentrate on traditional Slipjoint pocket knife Pocket slips ( basically a sheath to protect your knife in side your pocket against other pocket things like coins and keys etc )
Here's one I made for a knife I inherited from my father who died earlier this year .
The knife was given to him , or bought by him ( no ones exactly sure ) when he was 21 , he died at 81 .
This knife will only be carried by me on special family occasions .
