Thanks, but if any more should appear in the cupboard, I will be blaming it on you.:D
I like the shorter knife and the pouch Bremic, That is the Fox River I presume.
Did you get it in NZ????.
No Scribe, I ordered them in from the US. The fillet knife is one of only a 500 production run, so doubtful it would ever have been available here. Yes, the shorter one is the Fox River.
Yeah, I had ordered them both with a matching handle, was a bit peeved that they weren't the same, figured it mustn't be an exact science, making the micarta. After seeing yours for sale, realised they have dudded me and sent something the wrong one.
Never a bad decision buying BRK especially in 3V.
Did you get them from KSF? I recall seeing the filleter in a recent newsletter.
No, DLT Trading. Found there shipping costs significantly cheaper, plus they had the knife with the handle I was looking for. Quick shipping too, landed six days after ordering, wasn't expecting them that quick so wasn't looking out for the courier so as to take delivery without having to explain to the missus what was in the box.:)
My step son recently went on a trip to South America and bought me back this interesting little number from Argentina. The handle is ostrich claw.

I see there a couple of other Bark River fans on here, when it comes to knives I don't let a higher price get in the way of what I want, a decent knife can save your life. I am just a few short weeks away from having the money sorted for the Aurora 3V.

This is my old knife that I bought with my own money when I was a whole 7 years old. Still holds a good enough edge and been used as my fishing knife for a few years now.

My wife bought me this one for Father's Day... http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14...b1b64fcdba.jpg
It sure is. Think I paid the princely sum of around $12 for it at the local sports/fishing store that I walked past each day on my way to school. Each day looking in the window to check it was still there until the I could proudly take it home. Mother of course was none too impressed about a seven year old buying such a thing; eventually realising over the years it was a good investment.
@CZ Lux. Thats a bird knife?
No, boning knife. "Jaeger boning knife"

That is one thoughtful wife CZ has.
Made this one when I was 15, built a small fan forced forge in the ground and quenched it in molten lead then air cooled. Handle is from an Australian hardwood batten. Sheath is done with brass rivets normally used to attach brake linings to bands.
Quenches it rapidly to 600 ish degrees

Which is supposed to make it hard but not too brittle... Seemed to work
