Good Lord ,I knew you had a knife addiction I didn't relies you its that full blown ,12 step program must be in your future plans.
That number 3 looks a lot like a loveless drop point.
Now that was a good knife.

From the Pakistan/Afghan Border. The handle is camel bone and the blade was made from a Russian Gaz Leafspring.
Ok so here is an old curved skinner. My mother in law died recently and when we were cleaning out the house I came across it, rusted and forgotten, amongst my father-in-law's tools. I figure it could easily be 50 years old, or more. So I cleaned it up and it took a pretty good edge. And then I got HGD to do this superbly beautiful custom leather sheath. It looks gorgeous in the photo but it's even better in real life. The green against the red stitching is really very beautiful. And it fits like a glove, of course. So cheers Hamish you have done me proud! My father-in-law was a great one for looking after his gear (he flew a Mosquito in the war, maybe it came from that) and I'm sure he'd be happy to see his knife cleaned up and in such a beautiful sheath.Attachment 54652Attachment 54653
is it a green river?
Handle does look a bit green river ish
Yeah I don't really know. There's no maker's mark of any kind on the blade.
Its beauty lies in the simplicty of the rig, andd good on you for taking it on and honouring your fatherinlaw.

Added another Strider to the small but now growing collection.
This one's a fairly rare Arctic grey scale with the double gunner grip texture on the Ti and G10 side, blade is PD#1.

What model is the middle one?
That middle knife looks like almost the perfect field knife to me. What model is it @Tahr?
The middle one is a Bark River Phoenix 111.

Out of the three I would have the bottom one
New Bark River Wolf River in CPM S35VN with black and green linen handle arrived in the post today.
I have to say I am impressed with the size and shape of the knife. This is much smaller than my traditional green river skinners and will very quickly become a favorite me thinks.

Good find. Where did you pick it up? They are becoming quiet scarce.

Speaking of knifes, how'd the Op go?
Yes, took a fair bit of searching to track one down as they haven't been made for a while. This one is actually marked with "Limited Edition". There is still one available if anyone is interested. Wolf River S35VN Blue Black G-10
Any way Tahr, its all your bloody fault!!!!!!! I saw the Wolf River in one of your photos and at that point didn't even know that BRK had ever made a traditional skinner. I was looking for an upgrade for my Duel Skinner at the time, and the rest is now history.

My mate bought this back from Zim for me, he nearly shat himself when I used it to open a bottle so now it sits on display only. I'm too afraid to use it, or lose it, and its too pretty, I have other knifes for everyday use, including opening bottles of beer
Uggh, how do I make the image bigger???

So I decided it was time to add a nice stainless blade to my hunting kit.
I've been using a Karesuando Boar in carbon steel and I like it a lot, but it does rust easily if it gets damp.
This arrived in the post today and I'm looking forward to getting it covered in blood!
