Lovely representation of the classic loveless style hunter.
Your mate has skills

looks like a paint scraper :D
What will you use it for specifically
Mirror finish? What the hell! I'd only use that for eating the finest cuts of steak in the safety of my home! Waaaaay too flash for a hunting knife.
This is on the way to get sheathed....

Then I'm thinking this might go nicely somewhere as well...once my ol' chum has fitted a handle and made a sheath...

I like the Hamon work. Pretty cool.
First 3 designs of the line for me, All by hand with files.
The 2 smaller 1084 hunters are tempering as we speak and the larger Farmer/skinner is heading of for a professional HT as its 01.
Quite cool this knife making malarkey, cant wait to blood one

Top and bottom are a more traditional style blade so will go with some nice warm wood. Maybe stabilised burl or birdseye maple, hard stuff to get a hold of here. Thinking they will both get a dark forced patina finish as well.
The drop point will be OD green linen Macarta and copper pins with a 800 satin finish.
I say this but I will probably change my mind about 15 times before they are finished as I see another custom knife I fancy.
Finished My first knife this avo. Made from 1084 high carbon, satin finished with OD G10 scales.
I heat treated it, it took a good edge and is shaving sharp, but well see how well it holds an edge.

Thats bloody awesome Nick
Nice knife Nick.
Certainly looks the goods Nick, nice bit of work, well done.
bloody primo. Now you've just gotta shoot something to cut up with it...
Here's mine custom made by Bahco, they even gave me a flash orange sheath so I wouldn't loose it. I did customise it a bit more and add the blue string:ORLY:

Started making this last week , pleased how its turned out I went the whole hog & made a bit of a kiln got it glowing & dipped it in cooking oil 3 times & tempered it in the oven , its got a wicked edge on it be interesting to see how it holds an edge , wood is jarrah .
Im eyeing up a chainsaw bar now :)
Nice work
Flag the chainsaw bar and focus on the chain! Chainsaw chain Damascus - (photos not mine, wish they were)

Those chain blades look really funky.
Any reason for the triple Heat Treat? If a file skates across the edge after the first one call it good and temper from there. Instead of mystery steel Grab some 1084 or 1075 then you know you'll have a knife that holds an edge afterwards. I can send you some 1084 to try if you want
I'd assume that saw blade would be made of decent steel capable of holding an edge
