Good one guys :D
Anyone actually seen/used one?
i have seen some. made some they look good but modern steels leave them for dead in performance.they make a bloody pretty letter opener
cheers john
Brian and I got 3 deer last night so I gave this knife a work out.
Nothing wrong with it. No chips and steeled up sharp when it got dull. It got three quarters through a cut up and bone out of the first one before it needed a tweak with the steel, which is about what you would expect from a carbon steel like O1. Not chipping when you hit a bone is good sign that the maker got the hardening for the particular steel right.
Sure, 3v and Elmax are in a different league, but you pay more than twice as much too.
Handle and blade shape were fine. I will post a couple of pics when I get home later in the week.
I would recommend this maker for a good value knife,
Hi Thar
Thanks for the review! I appreciate you field testing and posting feedback of the knife.
I hope you enjoy it further and that it stays sharp!
If you can provide any additional feedback, it will be greatly appreciated, I am always looking to improve my craft.
Cheers

I got this one last year from bloke named Jon in Torbay on Auckland's North Shore...
Very nice to hold and has been fantastic in reducing Red's down to just meat...

After quite a wait my Strider SMF NSN model has arrived! Quickly opened with the Boker kwaiken as soon as I got home.
The Striders are pricey but solid as hell and many different steel options. This one's a full flat grind S30V blade. The collection is about to start growing.
Anyone else here heard of or own any Striders?

I know of the Striders, but have not handled one personally, similar quality to the Hinderer, zero tolerance type of heavy duty folder I understand, well done.
Had Hamish (HGD Designs) make me a sweet new sheath for my Svord. Ties in better with my hunting belt now.

Hamish's workmanship and customer service is excellent! Cheers again @HNTMAD

Here are my NZ Made Duel knives - a traditional skinner and a boning knife. Steel is nothing special and although they don't hold their edges like 3V, they do strop up easily. The boning kife is the best shape that I have ever used for boning out and is even a fair skinner when needed.
Attachment 50152
Yup I had a smaller skinner, didn't like it so sold it, wouldn't hold an edge. Shame

My latest is a Bark River Phoenix 3 in good old 1095 steel. Its easy to keep a razor edge on it with a rabbiters' steel, but will hold its edge for at least one gut and cut up job without touching it.
