Temp today was 15c on sounder.
Leftovers of the marine heatwave.
Warmer than average temperature hanging around in the top of the south and also Invercargill north to Dunedin.
Was a great first day off work.

Down to okiwi this morning , before my fishing buddy got back fishing !
Gentlemen hours due to the tide , set forth with high hopes and enthusiasm!
South easterly blown over the top of the hill do we hugged the coast..tried a few spots without much joy.
Ran out of paintence, geared up and over the side t the split rock, twas a ghost town.
Spot two in shallow produced a keeper and a handy buck.
Still half a tank left and no pressure to get a result dived a area I haven't bothered with for 15 odd years ....down and around and around..and damn near crashed into a nice cray, poor bugger was in a easy spot and I took em.
A bit later I had my head in a cave and a bloody cray came screaming past my face ...I darn near wet my suit..he must have being out on the top of the rock or something..no idea where he came from.
But he scurried away and was gone , swam round the rock and hello my beauty..a bit of a battle and a very nice cray in the sack ...the cold was chewing into me and I was thinking of warm cloths but one more set of feelers caught my attention and I sacked another victim.
Saw a few more smalls a couple of beeried females one huge huge red Moki.
The cold bit and I was done. VC as always right there to to pick me up. Bloody legend !
Pod of dolphins came charging into the rocks couldn't se what they were hunting but was amazing to watch them.. fishing was a bust ..one cod for tea
Boat washed fire on and a beer in hand

yum Crayfish, well done fellas. Looks bloody nice and clear and cold. We had a swim down at cable bay today, bit fresh without a wetsuit but water was clear. Mid winter swim with the family.
See a few Snapper are still out in the bay to.
Love seeing dolphins working the ocean, I have had a few surfs on the south coast of WA where we have been surrounded by dolphins chasing schools of Australian salmon, amazing experience to be in the water with them.
Do you guys have the inner ears pain when you dive below 5m, or maybe 6m? It `s like someone use chopstick to poke into your ears kind of pain.
So be it
