Good to see you out there doing it Beaker, you have been looking forward to this time away. Now some Rushy wisdom for you mate. On the plus side, the fish are already wet and your bloody skin is waterproof. On the negative side, the Raglan bar can be a bastard and it could be a bit rough out there and after two years you may have diminished sea leg abilities and could well lose your lunch overboard. There is one consolation though if you pull the pin due to foul weather ……….. RUM and bullshit sessions with good mates.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.

No boats for this one, just beach and rocks. Not worried about the rain, for all those reasons, just a bit concerned on the wind and waves......

    Rum already packed!

Beaker is well used to rum and rocks (reference to drinking preference) and he trains for coping with swell every Thursday night (reference to scantily clad young lasses in his favourite watering hole. But you are right mate, Beaker weighs less than one of your stick baits so he should harness himself to terra firmer and leave the bottle at home base until after the evening shower

    I hear you on that!
Didn't even get on the rocks and the rum was for afterwards.
Photos don't do it justice, horrible fishing conditions, so didnt do much and no fish were harmed......

Out today with Dad and the Son.
    Great conditions but fishing hard.
It was either sharks or juvinile snapper and cod or nothing.
I have never caught so many baby snapper...20-28cm snapper.....they seem to have taken over the spots we used to catch Terakihi years ago.
    I sopos thats good?
15y ago you would never catch undersize snapper.

Managed a feed of gurnard and cod but hard work.

It's just good to be out isn't it?! My story from yesterday...

My mate had an issue with his sounder, so he canned the trip and took the boat in to town to get it fixed. He called me a little bit later when I was half way up one of the local "mountains" to say that it was sorted and get back to the boat ramp ASAP, so I ran down!

On the way back to the boat ramp, his trailer made a good attempt at breaking in two. Two load bearing bolts had sheared in half. They were stainless steel. It is my understanding that stainless steel bolts should not be used for this purpose.

We got out and had a very small window to fish as I had to get to work in the afternoon. Lots of snapper around taking softbaits, jigs and bait. Fish in great condition and good size, average 55cm. We caught as many as we needed in a couple of hours.

Trailer repair at the ramp after fishing.

    No photos, there wasn't time!

Hhmm... I use stainless fasteners when/where I can,
just make sure they are high tensile fasteners, regardless its steel or stainless (8.8 stamps at the top or higher).

Any crabs, sea cucumber, kina, shellfishes, or maybe shrimps in your region? I mean one man like me can catch enough for six people for dinner.
    So be it
